He specializes in production, wholesale and retail, opportunity analysis, optimal materialization of internal resources potential, planning and restructuring, human resources, start-ups, special projects management, workplace health and safety, administration board training, and policies and procedures. He is President of Martel & Sons Inc., founded in 1903. He has a 35-year entrepreneurship experience. He majored in Commerce at the University of Ottawa. He has been Board Member and President and Executive Director for various regional and national organizations.
He founded the Entrepreneurial Academy in 2013 with the purpose of creating a stable, solid and sustainable social economic environment n Eastern Ontario
He specializes in textual support and linguistics, of any nature and for any prupose, in French and in English, and as a speaker, where he is firmly established in motivational issues, political and sociocultural history and self-discovery through the arts. He brings along his experience in staff management, policies and procedures, communication strategies, business plan writing and constructive argumentative expression. He has been a translator and a proofreader part-time since 2002 and full-time since 2009. He once was head of sports and international news and head proofreader for Quebecor. In 2011, he co-founded Idiome Conception linguistique, which he owns. He taught at the secondary level from 2001 to 2009, Head of the Communications unit and Head of the French department.
He majored in French, obtained his teacher’s degree and his master’s courses in Literature, Epistemology and Phenomenology of the Relation to the Other, all with honors. He is currently working at his master's degree in Literary Translation. His second published translation is set to come out this coming May.
He is also leading a successful career in poetry, having published nine books, the tenth and eleventh just about ready for publishing. He has given workshops and conferences at various levels, ranging from university to prison, and from Winnipeg to Moncton and has been guest of honor at literary events and fairs. He also writes songs and works with film, visual and photo artists. He is President of the Association des auteures et des auteurs de l’Ontario français (Franco-Ontarian Authors Association) and Vice-President of Neige-Galerie publisher.

Born in an entrepreneurial family, Nicolas has lived daily in a business environment that has enabled him to take on all sectors of the family business.
His passion for entrepreneurship and economic development has then led him to graduate from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, where he got a double-major in Commercial Science (Entrepreneurship and Management options). He reeped the rewards of an acute knowledge in various business fields such as economics, project management, strategic management, human resources management, marketing, accounting, finances, management and business law.
Afterwards, Nicolas started his career as Project Officer for the Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité de l’Ontario (Ontario Economic Development and Employment Network - RDÉE Ontario) and the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (Eastern Ontario Catholic District School Board - CSDCEO).
After that brief 18-month stint, Nicolas launched his first business, Mr. Driveway Sealing, an asphalt maintenance and repair company, which now has two employees.
Nicolas is now Management Coordinator for the Entreprneurial Academy, where he promotes and fosters entrepreneurship and business know-how through elementary and secondary schools, analyzes the clients' financial projections, develops a social business, namely InnergyLog
, and leads the organization's daily operations, mostly in finances and accounting.
